THE STUDIO — Local services in Tulsa

I don't often write negative reviews, but my private event rental with the Studio was very disappointing.

The space itself is nice. However, when I arrived on the day of my event, there were many painted canvases hanging on all the walls. I was under the impression that every event would be a clear space (other than the furniture and plants they provide) so that you can curate it for your event to match the vibe and look you are going for, which is hard to do with artwork already on display. It was never communicated to me through email or during my in-person tour that the space always has an art gallery on display. I had helped set up a bridal shower there, and the walls were bare at that time.

Adding to the issue was the fact my event was for a one year old's birthday party (something I had mentioned during my in person tour) and some of the paintings were explicit, so we had to take down and hang back up afterwards, which cut into a lot of our setup time. The placards describing the pieces couldn’t be taken down.  Having to do all of that, we weren’t able to finish setting up before guests started arriving.

Also, it lists on the website that there would be six 4' tables that could be used. There were only four available that we could find.

Lastly, there was very little urgency in their customer service. I had reached out with questions before the event, and it would take over a week to respond. One time, it took a month. One of correspondences that went unanswered for a week was even to get an invoice so they could be paid! They also mixed up my account with someone else's. And they didn't even bother to reply when I let them know I was unhappy with my experience. And still didn't follow up personally after my review.

I chose this space because I loved how it look(ed), but can’t see myself booking in the future for any...

Had the opportunity of looking around at a few local studios in Tulsa before I decided to work with SBJ. It's hands down the best studio I've ever worked with to date. Why??, good question! I'll tell you why...

You get your own key access to the studio and for someone like me who has a studio in Houston, it felt like home. For instance, If you’re booked for an hour, expect no interruption from the owner or anyone, SBJ becomes Royal Moments Media or whatever your brand is when you walk in the door.

They have lighting equipment that you can use if you don’t have studio lighting. Great place to start if you’re on a budget or beginner wanting to learn or practice your lighting skills

The space has been immaculate the past three times I’ve rented the studio. You could host a small wedding if you're wondering how big space is.

Unlike most studios, SBJ has a variety of props to use, from couches to backdrops, sofas, stools, chairs, cloth material, wall decor, etc and they always add in more stuff so expect your creative imagination to explode with ideas.

Lastly, the owner has come up to help me set up when I couldn’t figure out something and it took him 10 min to respond and show up if that doesn’t pass as a 5-star review then IDK what does, nevertheless, go check it out and if your experience is any less than what I got, I'll tell you, ” you booked the wrong studio” lol

We booked The Studio right before it changed ownership, and we are so glad that it did! Jess and Katy are great! The Studio can really be anything that you want! We used the space as our wedding venue and were able to transform it into our dream space. When we arrived for the rehearsal, there a few extra items there that we didn't want and the owners came back to clear it out for us. They were super easy to work with and very accommodating. They have some of their own furniture and decor items that really add to the space, but if you are using their space for an event you might need to rent tables and chairs.
