If I could give a zero star, I would.
I’m deeply disappointed by the experience my family and I had at Vineyard Vines in Walnut Creek today—our first time ever shopping at this brand and store. Unfortunately, what should have been a fun shopping trip turned into a very uncomfortable and disheartening experience due to the way we were treated.
We were the only Asian family in the store, and it quickly became apparent that we were being treated differently. While my children were simply holding the clothes they were excited about, a sales associate repeatedly watched us and asked if they wanted her to hold the clothes for them—something that came across as suspicious rather than helpful, especially since other customers weren’t approached the same way.
What stood out even more was the lack of basic courtesies that every other shopper seemed to receive. We were never offered water, though it was being offered to other customers. When it came time to try on the clothes, I noticed a clear double standard—other families were offered assistance with their fitting rooms, even having their items carried for them. When it was our turn, I had to ask for a fitting room, and the response was a curt, “Help yourself.”
It was subtle, but unmistakable: we were treated differently, and it felt rooted in implicit bias or outright racism. It was incredibly hurtful to experience this in a store that markets itself as a family-friendly and welcoming brand.
I hope this feedback leads to reflection and real action within the store. Everyone, regardless of their race or background, deserves to be treated with respect, especially in a retail environment.

Read morePurchased an OVERPRICED Vineyard Vines polo shirt a couple years ago. I liked the shirt until this happened: Taking off the shirt over my head, as usual, before bed, the shirt ripped out all along where the collar attaches to the back of the shirt. Like it rotted out, because I was not applying much force at all.
I reached out to Vineyard Vines via email, got an email back saying "my email had been received", then NOTHING more. No response. I contacted them again 11/1/22 and to date, still no response. I'm attaching a photo to show how it completely ripped out around the back collar. Will not buy "polo like" shirts from this company again, especially after reading other reviews about how they ghost people with problems and do...
