To preface, let me say that on the day I visited this store I had a black backpack because that day was my shopping day and I’m a commuter as most people whom live in DC proper. I’m also a young black woman.
On the day I visited this store, a black woman security guard was on duty and a black woman was also on duty for the fitting room. After browsing for the items I wanted to try on, I walked to the fitting room and was given one. I walked out after about 15 minutes only to see the security guard waiting standing near the podium/desk next to the fitting room lady.
I didn’t mind it at the moment but as I made my way down the steps with my items in hand, the security guard follows suit and at a very uncomfortable closeness. This scared me. I was quietly being harassed and I didn’t know what for.
After that experience, I realized that the fitting room lady likely called on the security guard noting to her that a woman with a black backpack was trying no clothes in the fitting room. But how is this enough to suspect someone of stealing ??
Should every black woman with a bag who walks into the store be harassed ? It was very embarrassing considering that there was a white woman there who I could tell was witnessing this and saw a slight concern on her face.
It’s so shameful that even people of color don’t even afford each other dignity and integrity.

Read moreBuying women's clothing neutral review Write text Buying women's clothing is definitely part of life. We walk into a store, and what do we see? Rows of hangers with dresses, blouses, pants, and skirts staring back at us. Each item is a potential look, a chance to create something new, to reflect your mood. The choice is vast, sometimes even too vast. Sizes, styles, colors—it's overwhelming. Sales assistants offer their help, but ultimately, the decision is always ours. Trying on clothes is a kind of ritual. We look in the mirror, critically evaluate, and think about what we can pair it with.
The fabric feels nice, the seams are even, the buttons are in place. Of course, price matters too. Discounts are nice, but it's not always worth giving in to temptation. The main thing is that the item fits well and you like it. Sometimes we find something truly special, something that suits us perfectly. At such moments, we feel satisfied. And sometimes we leave empty-handed, with a feeling of wasted time and indecision. Cash register, payment, bag. The item goes to the wardrobe, where it will take its place. Perhaps it will become a favorite and be worn often, or perhaps it will lie on the shelf, waiting for its moment. In any case, it's a finished story, one episode in the endless cycle of wardrobe renewal. It's just a purchase, neither bad nor good....
Read moreDon’t get me wrong……the selection of clothing and accessories or good but the customer service is trash. During my shopping experience I experienced some of the most disgusting customer service I’ve ever experienced with H&M and I go weekly. While I’m downstairs in the women’s section an employee walks over to what I assume to put up reshop and clean because they’re closing soon (I assumed). I hear loudly over her walkie to basically watch me because I had a backpack on. I try not to assume it’s me so I immediately start to look around because yes I do have a backpack on but mind you I just got off work and only went in to do an exchange but anywho I’m looking around and realize it’s just me and her in the area. She laughs and says “ok”. I walk away to go look on another rack and she just looks at me. I felt so uncomfortable that I went back upstairs. I finish my shopping and go to check out and I look up and she’s there. When she notices that I’m purchasing she walks away and I no longer see her. The staff here aren’t the friendliest but it never was to this extent. I won’t be going back to this...
