I booked a one-day tour to Ha Long Bay, and I didn’t enjoy it.
First of all, the website said the departure time was 8:30 AM, but they moved it almost an hour earlier — to 7:45 AM. After about an hour on the road (out of a two-hour trip), they suddenly claimed we’d been traveling for a long time and needed a break — then took us to a blatant tourist trap: a shop selling overpriced junk. They also put badges with our bus number around our necks, clearly so the driver or the company could get a commission from our purchases. I looked the place up on Google Maps — turns out I wasn’t the only one who thought so. The stop lasted 30 minutes — a quarter of the entire journey.
At the end of the trip, the guide spent a few minutes talking about how it would be nice to leave a tip. But after such a blatant attempt to scam tourists, I had zero desire to do so.
The organization was lacking in many ways. For example, they said we’d be back on board in 30 minutes — in reality, we stood around waiting for an hour with no explanation.
The food on the boat was questionable, but fine. It’s hard to complain considering the ticket price for the boat was $12 (310,000 VND), as printed...
Read moreOur recent cruise with Mr. Tinh our tour guide in Halong Bay was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped aboard, we were captivated by the beauty of the surroundings and the warm hospitality of the crew and our guide Mr Tinh. The cruise itself was exceptional. The itinerary was well-paced, allowing ample time to explore the stunning karst formations, kayak through hidden lagoons, and savor delicious Vietnamese cuisine. The highlight, however, was undoubtedly the serene atmosphere and the personalized service. The crew at Cruise were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. They were knowledgeable about the area, providing fascinating insights into the history and culture of Halong Bay. We highly recommend Halong Bay Cruise Hercules Premium and the tour company who arranged a day Cruise Route 2 to anyone seeking an authentic and unforgettable experience in this breathtaking natural wonder. The combination of stunning scenery, excellent service, and a focus on sustainability made our trip...
Read moreI have traveled from Korea to Korea. This tour was more than expected, and thank Sam for his kind and detailed guide. The morning pick-up location was as considerate as possible, and I was able to shop and have breakfast on the way. I was happy because I was able to ride a luxury yacht, have beautiful scenery and a delicious buffet on the way. And on the first island, you can go swimming in the sea, but it takes about 30 minutes to climb. The scenery is beautiful, but it's sloping and it's quite dangerous, so be careful of the elderly and the weak. And secondly, you can kayak and boat through the cave and have a beautiful view. I rode a multi-passenger boat that rowed and I think kayaking would be fun. And finally, I saw a beautiful, mysterious, big cave. When I came back, they gave me snacks and I was tired, but it was helpful. It's a romantic and luxurious tour. I'm thinking of coming back with my family again. Thank you Sam for...
