Since we transited through Ethiopia, we got vaccinated in advance and obtained the yellow fever certificate. 💰 South Africa's currency is the Rand (ZAR)—easy to exchange by pre-ordering at the bank. 🏨 Hotel Stayed at The Oyster Box Hotel, one of Durban's most iconic hotels, right next to Umhlanga Beach. 🍾 Check-in surprise: Champagne for every guest! Breakfast included bottomless champagne and oysters—highly recommend their Eggs Benedict and house-made butter. 🐒 Pro tip: Keep windows closed during the day—wild monkeys might sneak in to steal apples! ⛱️ Activities Most days were spent: Eating, drinking, and swimming at the hotel and Durbanville Hills Winery Strolling along the beach, soaking up the Indian Ocean breeze (early retirement vibes!) 🛍️ For town visits, the hotel arranged transport.
