[San Francisco] Chinatown: Home to the World's Most Photogenic Street
My three - day, two - night trip to San Francisco has come to an end, and it was an incredibly rewarding experience. For my travel research on the United States and Canada, I mainly refer to two sources: Meilvtong (a Chinese - focused travel platform) and TripAdvisor. Meilvtong provides very detailed information, but it's more from a Chinese traveler's perspective. TripAdvisor, on the other hand, offers an international viewpoint. Usually, after checking out Meilvtong, I'll take a look at the "things to do" in the corresponding city on TripAdvisor to compare and find out the differences. Then I'll try to figure out the reasons behind these differences to get a more accurate understanding of my trip. ā ļø Picture 1: This is the intersection of California Street and Stockton Street near San Francisco's Chinatown (or Chinatown). Right beside it is the Ritz - Carlton, San Francisco, so it's super easy to find. However, walking there from Chinatown can be a bit tiring for women due to San Francisco's steep terrain š¢. But it's totally worth going there to take photos because this really can be considered one of the most photogenic streets in the world (in the evening). The photos I took with my phone are just so - so, but you can get an idea. So I went to Chinatown during dusk, and I also wanted to check out its vibrant nightlife. As expected, many bars and restaurants near Chinatown were packed. People were having a great time, enjoying drinks and each other's company. San Francisco's Chinatown is arguably the most famous Chinatown in the world. The main streets for sightseeing are Grant Avenue (Ban Street) and its surrounding areas. Just head upwards from the "The World Under One Heaven" plaque. San Francisco's Chinatown, as well as Chinatowns around the world during that period, were basically the result of a fusion/compromise between Lingnan culture and the local culture, rather than a direct representation of a specific time period in China. #travel #China #USA
