Awesome Spot for Kids: Staten Island Zoo 🦁🐍🦚

Recently, I took my little one to the Staten Island Zoo (https://www.statenislandzoo.org), and we had a blast! 🎉 Here’s everything you need to know before planning your visit. Ticket Prices 💵 Adults: $12 Seniors (60+): $9 Children (3-14): $8 Under 3: Free (yay for tiny humans!) Highlights of Our Visit 🌟 Reptile House 🐍 This section had SO many snakes and lizards—some were huge! 😱 I’m terrified of snakes, so my brave husband took our kiddo inside. Surprisingly, our little one wasn’t scared at all and even got super excited when the snakes moved! 🐍💕 Aquarium 🐠 Two giant glass tanks filled with colorful fish and stunning coral reefs—absolutely mesmerizing! 🌊✨ There was also a crocodile exhibit with two massive crocs just chilling. 🐊 Tropical Zone 🌴 We walked through a mini rainforest with monkeys swinging, lemurs jumping around, and exotic birds chirping. It felt like a jungle adventure! 🐒🦜 Bird Area 🦅 Saw the majestic bald eagle (so patriotic! 🇺🇸) and a toucan with its iconic colorful beak—so cool! Children’s Farm 🐑🦙 This was the BEST part for my kiddo! We met pigs, goats, ducks, geese, alpacas, and even an ostrich! Pro tip: Bring quarters—we spent 50 cents on feed, and the goats devoured it in seconds! 🐐😂 Our little one screamed with joy watching them eat. Carousel 🎠 For $3 per ride, your kid can enjoy a 5-minute spin on the carousel. First-time rider? Pure magic! ✨ Bonus: The Lazy Peacock 🦚 In the rest area, we spotted a peacock standing on a bench—totally still. Turns out, its foot was chained to the bench (poor guy!). We tried imitating a female peacock to make it fan its feathers… but no luck! 🤣 Tips for Your Visit 📌 Go on a sunny day ☀️—some animals weren’t out due to light rain during our visit. Bring quarters for the animal feed—it’s a must for the kiddos! Small but mighty—this zoo may be compact, but it’s packed with diverse animals! Final Thoughts 💭 The Staten Island Zoo is a great spot for families—affordable, fun, and full of surprises! Would we go again? Absolutely! 🙌 What’s your favorite zoo memory? Share below! 👇 #NewJerseyKids #ZooAdventures #NYCWithKids #FamilyFun #StatenIslandZoo #AnimalLovers
