NYC Restaurant Week at Soba Totto - A Yakitori Feast!

Craving yakitori? For this year's NYC Restaurant Week, my first stop was Soba Totto! Here's the scoop: 1️⃣ Portions are generous - you won't leave hungry 2️⃣ Limited set menu options, but perfect for solo diners (though let's be real, I dragged friends along to try everything!) 🍱 The Full Breakdown: 🥟 Appetizer Platter Edamame, tamagoyaki, chilled eggplant & pumpkin, crab salad Hot take: Their tsukemono (pickles) put my homemade versions to shame - that marinade is next-level! 🍣 Sushi Spoon Tuna, salmon (lightly torched), and yellowtail Surprise MVP: The buttery yellowtail stole the show! Salmon was cleverly torched, but tuna was slightly fishy. 🍢 Yakitori Course (4 types!) Chicken heart, breast, thigh, and ume-shiso breast + pork belly + A5 wagyu (upgrade from regular beef!) Meat sweats incoming: Breast was tender, thigh was juicier, all perfectly glazed. Pork belly and wagyu were rich AF (maybe too salty?), but by this point I was already stuffed lol 🍜 Osyokuji Main Cold/hot tempura soba or chicken paitan soup Plot twist: Our group of three could only pick soba (tempura was solid though!). Sweet potato tempura = 🔥, but the maitake mushroom version was bland ! 🍨 Dessert Yuzu sorbet or vanilla/matcha ice cream Sad matcha noises: They were out, but the other options were standard izakaya sweets **🍶 Sake Pairing (+36)∗∗Dassai39−legendaryforgoodreason,but36 could buy a whole bottle retail... #regrets Final Verdict: Solid Restaurant Week pick for yakitori lovers! Just maybe skip the sake pairing next time 😅 #RestaurantWeek #NYC #NYCEats #NYCRestaurantWeek #Yakitori #Soba #JapaneseFood
