Polka by Magda Gessler - A Polish Culinary Experience 🇵🇱🍽️
Famous British chef Gordon Ramsay is known for his hellish temper 😤 (based on my experiences at his restaurants in the US - the food was just mediocre...). But in Poland, there's a legendary female chef - Magda Gessler - whose temper is nothing compared to Gordon's (can't even hook it to a fishhook 🪝😂). Today, I visited her restaurant Polka for an inspection 🍴 Location: Warsaw Old Town, right next to the Royal Castle 👑 At 5 PM, the restaurant was pretty empty 🕔 The interior decor had a strong Mexican vibe 🇲🇽 (very colorful!). To my surprise, there were no tablecloths - just paper napkins instead? 🤔 After browsing the menu, my mouth started watering 💦 Starters: Tomato & rosemary soup 🍅🌿 - Delicious!!! Poland's "national dish" pierogi 🥟 (a must-have on every menu) - I tried the spinach, bacon & cheese filling - surprisingly good!!! Beef tartare with toast 🥩 - Super fresh and flavorful!!! Main Course: Couscous 🌾 (a Polish-style mixed grain dish with potatoes, radishes & roasted meat) - YUM!!! Fried pork cutlet with mashed potatoes & yogurt-cucumber sauce 🐖 - Not my favorite... The service felt as cold as the Warsaw evening sky tonight 🌫️❄️ Verdict: OK experience, but nothing mind-blowing 🤷♀️ #PolishCuisine #WarsawDining #MagdaGessler #FoodieAdventures #PolandTravel #RestaurantReview #PierogiLover #CulinaryExploration #WarsawEats
