Qatar 🇶🇦 Conquering Doha in 40°C Heat
My itinerary: 1 day in Doha + 2 days in Cairo + 2 days in Luxor (more guides and photos to come!). Snagged a great deal on flights from Hangzhou to Doha via Shenzhen for just 1280 RMB. Landed in Doha early and checked into the Waldorf Astoria West Bay, then set off to hit the major landmarks. 📍 Recommended Route: Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) → MIA Park → Mina District → National Museum of Qatar → Souq Waqif → Katara Cultural Village. Highlights include: 1️⃣ Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Designed by I.M. Pei, this architectural masterpiece houses 1,400 years of Islamic art from Turkey, Syria, Iran, Indonesia, India, and more. Photo spots: The building itself, the spiral staircase, and the sky-high café with panoramic views. 2️⃣ Souq Waqif The heart of Arabian culture—spices, handicrafts, and nightly traditional music performances. Don’t miss: Luxury restaurants, Tea Time (local drink spot), and the giant golden thumbs-up sculpture—perfect for souvenirs! 3️⃣ National Museum of Qatar Shaped like a "Desert Rose", it tells Qatar’s natural and historical story. Pro tip: Skip the ticket—just photograph the stunning exterior. 4️⃣ Mina District & Corniche Mina’s pastel-colored houses are a dopamine-filled dream (great for photos!). The 7km Corniche waterfront offers iconic skyline views of Doha and the Persian Gulf. 5️⃣ Katara Cultural Village Highlights: Pigeon Towers, amphitheater, and the Blue Mosque. Bonus: Great restaurants and the Galeries Lafayette shopping mall next door. ☀️ Survival Tip: By late April, Doha hits 40°C+—avoid outdoor activities at noon. Either relax at your hotel or explore air-conditioned malls. The best time to explore? After 4 PM, when the heat eases, and post-sunset, when the city comes alive comfortably. #JourneyOfWonder #ArtGalleryLove #Qatar #Doha #IMPei #TravelInHeat #MiddleEastAdventure
