【3 Days in Sequoia National Park】A Journey Among Ancient Giants

This June, we spent three unforgettable days exploring Sequoia National Park—home to some of the largest trees on Earth and breathtaking natural scenery! 🌟 🚗 Our trip started in Los Angeles. The drive to the park entrance took about 3.5–4 hours. Note: the roads are winding and high-altitude—check weather and road conditions in advance! There’s little to no cell service inside the park, so grab a physical map at the entrance 🗺️—it’s a lifesaver. 📸 As we drove deeper into the park, the landscape transformed. We passed through areas of burned sequoias standing stark and black, and others lush and green. The air smelled of fresh pine and earth. Even fire-scarred trees showed nature’s power to regenerate—like phoenixes rising from the ashes. 🐦‍🔥 🌳 Must-See Spots: General Sherman Tree – The largest tree in the world by volume. Over 2,000 years old, it humbles you with its silent grandeur. Yes, there was a line for photos—but totally worth it. 🫶 Moro Rock – A short but steep stairway climb leads to jaw-dropping 360° views of the Sierra Nevada. Not for those afraid of heights! ⚠️ Kings Canyon – Often called “a rival to Yosemite,” this park-within-a-park features deep canyons, rushing rivers, and dense forests. We even spotted deer! 🦌 Don’t miss Big Stump Grove—some tree stumps here are over 6 meters wide, telling stories of a different era. 🪵 📝 Tips for a Smooth Trip: 🎟️ Get an America the Beautiful Annual Pass if you plan to visit more national parks—it pays for itself quickly! 💊 Bring motion sickness pills—those mountain roads are no joke. Basic meds are available in park stores, but better come prepared. 🚗 Parking near visitor centers fills up fast on weekends—arrive early! Shuttles are available—ask staff for routes. ☀️ High-altitude essentials: sunscreen, mosquito repellent, hat, sunglasses, reusable water bottle, and comfy hiking shoes. 🎒 Pack smart: water, snacks, fan (it can get hot!), map/GPS device. ✨ Finally—a big shoutout to my family for making this trip so special 🫶🌻☀️💖 If you enjoyed this travel diary, don’t forget to like 👍💖 and share 📤 with your friends! #US #CA #Sonoma
