đ„ȘăPittsburgh Food FindăVietnamese Sandwiches? Surprisingly Delicious!
đ Maiku Sushi and Pho đ 1611 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 Tucked right behind Lotus Supermarket â donât blink, or youâll miss this cozy little spot! đȘâš I stopped by for a quick lunch and ended up trying their spring rolls, pho, andâmost importantlyâtheir bĂĄnh mĂŹ! There are five types of bĂĄnh mĂŹ on the menu, and I went with the Deluxe. Let me tell youâit did NOT disappoint! đ đ„ The BĂĄnh MĂŹ Experience: The bread alone deserves applause â crusty on the outside, soft and airy inside, just like a proper Vietnamese baguette should be. The Deluxe was loaded with grilled pork, pĂątĂ©, Vietnamese ham, and pickled daikon and carrots đ„đ§ âš, along with fresh cilantro and a light spread of mayo. Every bite was a perfect mix of savory, tangy, and slightly sweet. The meat was tender and well-seasoned â you can tell itâs made with care! đ Also Tried: Spring Rolls: Fresh, light, and packed with herbs and shrimp. The peanut dipping sauce was rich and went perfectly. Pho: A generous bowl with aromatic broth, tender beef slices, and all the classic herbs. Comfort in a bowl đČđ The portion sizes here are no joke â the bĂĄnh mĂŹ was huge and easily shareable (but you might not want to). Itâs a great spot for a quick yet fulfilling meal. The staff was friendly and service was fast, even though the space is small. Perfect for: â A casual lunch â Takeout sandwiches â Authentic Vietnamese flavors without leaving the city đ Tip: Grab a sandwich to go and enjoy it at nearby Mellon Park â itâs what sunny afternoons were made for! âïžđ„Ș Definitely coming back to try the other bĂĄnh mĂŹ varieties.
