šŸ›ļø Amazing Getty Villa! šŸ›ļø

When it comes to free attractions in LA, two places starting with Getty must be mentioned: the Getty Center & Getty Villa. Both are donated by collector Mr. Getty and are currently open to the public for free. The Getty Villa is modeled after an ancient Roman country estate. If you join an Architecture Tour, the guide will tell you that the buildings here are constructed to imitate the remains of the Roman villa "Villa dei Papiri," which was destroyed by a volcanic eruption. ⭐ Almost every courtyard has a pool of water, perfect for meditation and contemplation. ⭐ The missing tile patterns in the middle are spaces left for sunlight to pass through the window flowers, making the sun a part of the tile decoration. ⭐ The ceilings are painted with symbols of wine, musical instruments, and theater, which were favorites of the nobility at the time. There are so many details worth talking about that it's hard to know where to start, so let's leave it blank and wait for you to explore in person. #LosAngelesGetty #GettyMuseum #GettyVilla #LosAngeles #LAAttractions #CulturalAttractionSharing
