π½οΈ Fell in Love with this New Restaurant by Lo&Bebold: Fico yeslada
Had the perfect weekend brunch with my favorite group of friends over at Fico yesladayll. Everyone knows I'm a sucker for al fresco vibes in our small (comparatively to bigger countries) but lively Singapore food scene. It's been a while since a restaurant lived up to its hype, and I've just so much love for Fico. ππΉ What we had (disclaimer, it's most of the menu, haha): Charred and Pappards - Anchovies with Red Paprika and Capers πΆ Just the perfect way to set the tone of our lunch. Don't stop at a flavorful dish, but this will be well received by us when we paired it with the focaccinas. Fritas Mini - A small mix of calamari, prawns, zucchini, and pettole fritti π¦ Nice portion for 4 to share, and the batter was done well, light and crisp. Trapezan Onion Focaccia and Datterino Marzano Tomato Focaccia π Think of this like when a focaccia and pizza gets married and has a cute baby. Airy bread with a nice crust, topped with classic Italian staple ingredients. If you're only going for one, I much preferred the tomato and mozzarella one. Especially liked the touch of fresh basil on top, which really helped to enhance its flavor. We had 3 pastas: Dunti del Drago (White Ragu), Mallardine (Ossobuco), and Linguini (Vongole) π Don't even want to go into describing those, but SO YUMZ. I personally felt they were better than most of the pasta from Forna (my friend that misses Italy so much said that is the best she has had in SG compared to those in Rome). They all had a hearty but balanced note to their sauces, and the noodles were handmade al dente. Would so love to come back for these. Grilled Pork Collar π₯© Usually, I don't prefer ordering pork because a lot of times they are dry or just meh. But this one, though not the highlight, was really well cooked with a light pink shade, and the asparagus was nicely charred! Charcoal Grilled Baby Octopus π As we always have octopus and most of the restaurants do them pretty decent, this one we had was nothing spectacular, haha. Desserts - We tried them ALL π¨ Would say go for all so can skip this lame cake that seems like just a pound cake (sorry can't remember its name), the one that wowed us was the burrata ice cream and my personal fav was the pistachio cannoli (I love pistachio, so take my words slightly biased). I loved watching them pull out the cart, and it really added to the experience of the whole meal. Don't skip dessert if budget allows. We had 2 bottles of wine. A white wine that we bought there and a red that I bought in Provence and brought over to share (corkage is waived for every bottle you get, so it's pretty worth it). As an interior designer, I felt so blissful in the space as the furnishings to the tableware were all so mouthwateringly pretty. Makes me really want a dog so I can bring it and sit outside when the weather miraculously gets cooler, haha. Great job, Lo&behold, I'm so coming back! #ThingsToDo #sgfoodie #foodrecommendations #FoodReview
