🌧️ Life in Wageningen, Netherlands – Brutally Honest Guide 🇳🇱
☔ Weather Woes October = single-digit temps ❄️ + nonstop rain. Dress code: Rain pants (yes, they’re necessary – but Dutch options are expensive and flimsy). No cute outfits – just waterproof everything. 4 seasons in 1 day? Sun → snow → rain → gloom. 🌦️ (Seasonal depression is real here.) 🚲 Transport (Bike or Bust!) Bike life: Buy used (~€200) or suffer. No taxis/Uber – just 15min cycling to town (hope you like headwinds!). Buses: To train station: 30min To Arnhem/Utrecht: 1.5h 🍔 Food (RIP Convenience) No proper uni canteen – just overpriced外包 vendors: Unilever cafeteria: €10 for meh food. Campus Plaza "Oriental Fast Food": €6.50/1 dish, €10/2 dishes. No McDonald’s/KFC/Burger King – just Subway, pizza, and sadness. 🏠 Housing Reality No AC (summer = sweaty sleepless nights). B: Electric stoves (buy your own hotplate). A/H/D楼: Gas stoves but shared bathrooms. Safety: Generally good, but... Watch for thieves/teen gangs (recent attacks on int’l students!). Police? Slow. Protect yourself first. #WageningenLife #DutchStruggles #StudyAbroad 🚴♂️
