🏗️ Ma Yansong’s Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Nears Completion! ✨
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, rising in LA’s Exposition Park, is finally taking shape! Designed by MAD Architects (led by Ma Yansong) and spearheaded by Star Wars creator George Lucas, this futuristic landmark is set to open in 2026. Imagine a sculptural canopy floating above a lush, pedestrian-friendly park—pure architectural poetry 🏛️💫. 🌌 Design Magic: No right angles! MAD used organic, fluid curves and 1,500+ custom FRP panels to create its cloud-like form. 56m central arch spans the plaza, framing the entrance with a 4-story oval void linking earth to sky 🌈. Seismic-ready: "Floating" design tailored for LA’s earthquakes (science meets art 🔬🎨). 🌳 Park Transformation: Landscape architect Mia Lehrer turned a parking lot into a green oasis with 200+ trees 🌴—now a walkable utopia aligning with the museum’s mission: "A place for people, not just artifacts." 🏛️ Inside the "Cloud": 8,361 sqm gallery space 2 theaters, 10 studios, a library 📚 Rooftop event space under ribbed "cloud" ceilings ☁️ Dining + shopping 🍽️🛍️ ✨ Why It Matters: As LA cements its status as a global arts hub, this museum aims to be a community heartbeat—where folks gather, learn, and dream. 📍 Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Exposition Park, Los Angeles #ArchitectureDaily #MADArchitects #MaYansong #FutureMuseum #LucasMuseum #LAArts #GreenDesign #UrbanOasis
