🍽️ Milwaukee Food Review: Odd Duck 🦆

Just finished Black Friday shopping and realized it’s been a while since I visited Odd Duck — my former roommate’s pick for Milwaukee’s best Western restaurant! Decided to check out their latest menu. Odd Duck is a fusion restaurant specializing in creative small plates 🍛, with prices leaning toward fine dining — around $50 per person. They change their menu every few months, so each visit offers something new! We didn’t have a reservation (good time slots book out a week+ in advance 📅), so we walked in around 4 PM. Dinner service starts at 5, so we enjoyed a cheese board 🧀 and drinks during happy hour — delicious way to pass the time! We skipped veggies and ordered 5 meat dishes: Duck Confit & Ricotta Agnolotti Pasta too thick, overshadowed the duck flavor 😔 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 Fried Rushing Water Trout Fresh, well-prepared — even I liked it (and I usually avoid seafood!) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Pork Cheek Goulash Tender and flavorful, though a bit more fat would’ve made it perfect ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 Braised Beef Short Rib a la Gasconne A classic that never leaves the menu — perfect as always! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Grilled Bavette Steak Good meat, but the rice cake was undercooked and poorly executed ⭐️⭐️ 2/5 Veggie notes: Their flatbread 🫓 and fried mushrooms 🍄 are consistently good — recommended! Overall, I’d say Odd Duck is better than similar spots like La Merenda, though slightly pricier. 📍 Address: 939 S 2nd St, Milwaukee, WI 53204 🅿️ Parking: Street parking available #Milwaukee #OddDuck #SmallPlates #FoodReview #FineDining #WisconsinEats
