🍽️ My SF-born ABC boyfriend says the new Hwa Mi Won is LEGIT
My ABC boyfriend has grown up eating his way through Bay Area Korean food. This time, I’ll let him take the lead in recommending two amazing spots in SF for Kalbijjim (Korean braised short ribs)! If you search “Kalbijjim San Francisco,” the first result is always DaeHo. Yes, it’s delicious and super famous — but this time, we decided to switch it up and try the newer Hwa Mi Won. And wow — from the very first bite, we looked at each other, closed our eyes, and just shook our heads 😩 (you know, that “this is too good” face!). 🥘 Their Kalbijjim is $75, +$5 if you want cheese (you do 🧀). We also ordered Seolleongtang (ox bone soup) for under $20 — it came with noodles and beef, so comforting and rich. We finished the soup right there, and even took leftovers of the Kalbijjim home. It was still amazing the next day! 🤤 📍 Hwa Mi Won: 6314 Geary Blvd, SF | Closed Wed | Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri/Weekends: 5–9pm 📍 DaeHo: 1620 Post St, SF | Mon–Fri: 11am–2:30pm, 4:30–9pm | Weekends: 10:30am–9pm If you’re in the Bay Area, try both and let me know which one wins your heart! #SanFrancisco #FoodReviewObserver #LifeInTheUS #TrendPOV #TrendOnline #SFfood #SFKoreanFood #Kalbijjim
