🍽️ New Restaurant Review: Chef Liu’s Kitchen in Denver 🇨🇳✨
Recently visited Chef Liu’s Kitchen — a spot that’s made a comeback after being closed for a few years! Their menu focuses on Sichuan and Shandong cuisines, and we put it to the test. 🥢 Couple’s Beef Tripe (Fu Qi Fei Pian) Looked lighter on chili oil than expected, but the flavor surprised us! 🌶️🍯 Spicy, numbing, with a hint of sweetness that elevated the umami — a true representation of “málà xiāngxiāng”! ✅ Recommend! 🥓 Jingjiang Shredded Pork A friend’s recommendation — I enjoyed it, though my friend said it could be saltier. The real star? The lotus leaf buns — thin, soft, and stretchy! 🍃✨ (Just wished there were more buns for all that pork!) 🍗 Chongqing Spicy Chicken (La Zi Ji) You could smell the aromatic peppers before it even arrived! 🌶️🔥 The chicken and chilies were perfectly crispy, though the saltiness slightly overpowered the spice. 🍤 Crispy Rice with Tomato Shrimp We originally wanted the Three Delicacies version, but went with shrimp… and sadly, it was a letdown. The sauce was overly sweet, and the shrimp, though large, tasted a bit fishy. The crispy rice itself was good though! 🍄 King Oyster Mushrooms with Beef Tendon 🏆 Dish of the night! The tendon was soft and bouncy, the sauce rich and deep — reminded me of braised sea cucumber with scallion! 🧅👌 ✅ Highly recommend — 3x! 🥟 Red Oil Wontons Just okay — the wrapper was a bit thick, according to my friend. We ordered it casually; maybe we should’ve asked for a staff recommendation. 📸 Menu Tip: They have a long menu, but we mostly ordered from the “Specialties” page — a safe bet! 💰 Price: $139 for three people (including tax & tip) — not cheap, but we ordered a lot, and the quality matched the price. 🏞️ Plus: There’s a beautiful state park nearby — perfect for a walk after your meal! Post coming soon 😉 #ChefLiusKitchen #DenverChinese #SichuanCuisine #NewInDenver #FoodReview #AsianEats
