โ๏ธ New York French Dining Experience...
๐Driven by the reputation of Sushi Noz as the top omakase in New York according to the southerner, we decided to try their newly opened French restaurant. Given that itโs from the same group, expectations were sky-high! ๐ ๐ Chez Fifi, 140 E 74th St, located in the Upper East Side, just a few blocks from Sushi Noz. The ambiance is classic French, with white tablecloths and dim lighting perfect for a romantic date. ๐ The southerner was unimpressed from the start, beginning with the pre-meal bread... The baguette from Le Fournil seemed either too old or not properly steamed when reheated, resulting in a hard crust and an interior that wasnโt fluffy enough. ๐ Foie Gras Terrine Maison ๐The northerner found it very delicate, melt-in-your-mouth, and perfectly seasoned. However, the southerner, always the critic, felt it lacked refinement and the foie gras itself had no real aroma. ๐ Peach Salad The peaches were just raw slices? A bit of grilling or marinating would have added so much more flavor. As it was, they tasted bland and boring, and the salad leaves were a bit sad. #NewYork ๐
