Returned to Ernestoās for a second visit, and wow ā their seasonal spring menu is a knockout. While my first trip was pleasant, this time I was truly blown away by every dish. Top highlights: 𩸠Housemade Blood Sausage with roasted piquillo peppers ā incredibly meaty and rich, likely blended with offal for depth. Soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture with a thin, lightly crisped casing. No off-putting flavors, just balanced spice and savory goodness. Paired with sweet charred peppers ā I couldāve eaten ten servings! š Madrid-Style Tripe ā Reminded me of the cozy, hearty stews from my favorite spot, Beba. Generous chunks of tripe stewed until tender yet springy, in a deeply savory broth with beans and smoky cured meat. Felt like a comforting bowl of Sichuan Served with oil-brushed, grilled sourdough for dipping ā pure satisfaction. š¦ Grilled Calamari with Fava Beans ā A bright, spring-inspired plate. Tender squid, fresh sweet fava beans, rich ink sauce, and romesco with a hint of citrus and mint. Light yet deeply flavorful. š° Basque Cheesecake ā Iāve been dreaming about it since last time! This visitās version was slightly firmer with a touch of lemon, but still wonderfully creamy with that iconic burnt top and no bitter aftertaste. Came early on a Monday and had the place almost to myself ā serene, delicious, and served by a lovely team. A truly happy solo meal. #ErnestosNYC #SpanishTapas #SoloDining #NYCEats #BloodSausage #ComfortFood #NYCRestaurants #LowerEastSide #BasqueCheesecake #FoodHeaven #SpringMenu #NYCFoodie #WarmVibesOnly
