✈️ St. Louis Travel PLOG | Midwest Hidden Gem
Took advantage of the Memorial Day weekend to explore St. Louis—a small but historically rich city in the American Midwest. Once a thriving hub during the Westward Expansion, it now has a quieter, nostalgic charm. Three days were just enough to hit the highlights! Here’s my itinerary + food recs: 🗓️ Day 1 📍 The Gateway Arch 🎟️ $19 for the tram ride to the top (wait time ~45 mins). The tight elevator pod is an experience itself! Fun fact: This iconic arch is America’s tallest monument and a National Park. 🌉 📍 Forest Park 🚣♀️ Rented a pedal boat ($25 for 4 people, 1 hour). Super scenic but legs were burning by the end! 😅 The park’s huge lake is perfect for a chill afternoon. 🗓️ Day 2 📍 Missouri Botanical Garden 🌿 Pretty but standard for plant lovers—great for photo ops and greenery therapy. The Japanese Garden was my favorite! 📍 Laumeier Sculpture Park 🗿 A hidden gem! Combines art + hiking trails—so unique! Perfect for a relaxed, artsy stroll. 🗓️ Day 3 📍 Budweiser Brewery Experience 🍺 $15 tour = 2 beer samples (including a 16oz!) + a free Bud Light to take home. The Mango Cart beer was a tropical delight! 🥭 🍽️ Restaurant Picks St. Louis surprised me with its food scene! Beyond Chinese spots near WashU, here are two must-tries: 📍 Salt + Smoke 🍖 Local BBQ joint—smoky, saucy, and so Midwest. The ribs? Life-changing. 📍 Kattie’s Pizza 🍝 Italian spot famous for squid-ink pasta topped with caviar. Fancy but worth it! Final Thoughts: St. Louis is underrated! Perfect for a short getaway with history, nature, and great beer. 🍻 Who’s been? #StLouisTravel #MidwestAdventures #MemorialDayWeekend #USATrip #HiddenGems #FoodieFinds #TravelPLOG #StudyAbroadLife
