🏛️ Visiting the "Oldest House in the USA" in Santa Fe
📍 Right next to the oldest church in the U.S.—San Miguel Chapel! Now the entrance leads to a souvenir shop 🛍️—turn left, and you’ll step into the ancient house. Honestly, I was a bit confused… Santa Fe isn’t even the oldest city in the U.S., so how can the oldest house be here? 🤔 Then it hit me: maybe older houses didn’t survive, so this one just holds the "oldest documented" title. Built in 1646—back when this was still under Spanish rule 🇪🇸. It wasn’t until the Mexican-American War 200 years later, and another 70 years after that, that New Mexico even became a U.S. state. So calling it the "oldest in the U.S." feels… a little stretched 😅 Mostly a quick check-in spot—not much to see, but fun for history nerds and completionists! 📸 #Travel #NewMexico #NorthAmerica #Santa Fe #OldestHouse #HistoryCheck 🇺🇸
