✈️ What’s It Like Flying Friends to Cleveland
Took three friends on a flight to Cleveland and landed at Burke Lakefront Airport (KBKL). The weather was perfect 🌤️—we took off from OSU through thin mist and low clouds. Flying above the clouds toward the sunrise was absolutely breathtaking. Even though it was my first time at BKL, it instantly became my favorite airport. The approach to Runway 06 was stunning: downtown Cleveland on my right, the blue waters of Lake Erie on my left, and the marinas right below me. ✨ We parked at Signature FBO. Great facilities and service—they provided a crew car (a brand-new model this year!). The location is unbeatable: just 2 minutes from the airport is Voinovich Bicentennial Park by the lake 🏞️. Nearby are the Browns Stadium, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and the USS Cod Submarine Memorial. Downtown is just across the street. Before heading back, we grabbed coffee and sandwiches at Bites Cafe ☕🥪—highly recommend! My friends also tried Sushi 86 next door and loved it. My friends got to experience the convenience of private flying: from entering the terminal to takeoff in under 10 minutes—no boarding passes or security lines! ✈️💨 On our return, ATC had us wait for skydivers, which delayed us a bit, but we made it back in about 2 hours roundtrip. 📸 Photos: View of downtown Cleveland from Taxiway D off Runway 06R By the lake with the steamship William G.
