🇦🇹 Austria | Strolling through Sisi’s Summer Garden

Located in the western suburbs of Vienna, Schönbrunn Palace is not just a palace—it feels like a time tunnel back to the 18th century. It once served as the summer residence of the Habsburg dynasty, where Empress Sisi and Emperor Franz Joseph spent many summers. 🏰🌳 Since photography isn’t allowed inside the palace, it allowed me to truly focus on listening to the stories of the empire’s rise and fall under its gilded domes. From the Million Room to the Gloriette, I could almost imagine Sisi herself walking through these halls in her elegant gowns. 👑✨ The moment I stepped into the garden from the back of the palace, I could faintly sense Sisi’s rebellious spirit and her longing for freedom. The symmetrical hedge mazes are like a metaphor for the strict rules of court life—this was both her palace of oil paintings and her gilded cage. 🌿🕊️ It took me about 20 minutes to walk up the gravel path from the Gloriette to the hilltop pavilion. Along the way, I encountered a little snake slithering proudly across the path and an elderly couple kissing on a bench. When I finally reached the top, the summer heat and sweat were quickly forgotten. Instead, I felt grateful and content—knowing that I can still live freely, unbound by marriage or society’s expectations. 💖🏞️ #JustGo #TravelCommunity #EuropeTravelTips #GermanyTravel #LifeInEurope #AustriaTravel
