🇦🇹 Vienna | 1.5-Day Solo Speed Tour
Vienna's attractions are highly concentrated, making it very manageable to explore in just one day. I took the OBB train from Budapest and arrived at Vienna Central Station around 1 PM. (No need to exchange currency—Euros are widely accepted.) I bought a 48-hour travel pass directly at the station (highly recommended if your accommodation is a bit far—walking everywhere is exhausting!). Then, I headed straight to eat at a restaurant just three minutes away opposite the station. ⭐️ Lunch: Böhmerwald I recommend the fried schnitzel and pancake soup. Around €10 per person—huge portions and decent authentic Austrian fare. After eating, I started exploring. An 8-minute walk led me to: ✅ Belvedere Palace After the visit, I returned to my hotel to drop off my luggage and freshen up. ✅ Karlskirche (Free entry between 18:00 - 20:00) Absolutely spectacular! Going during this time slot helps avoid crowds—you can appreciate the details and take photos more freely. A must-see! ⭐️ Dinner: Ribs of Vienna I went around 7:30 PM without a reservation and didn’t have to wait. Recommend the Ginger-Ribs and the lemon beer. Day 2 (I followed this order based on proximity): ✅ Parliament Building ✅ Vienna City Hall ✅ Votivkirche (Stunning stained-glass windows!) ✅ Heroes‘ Square ✅ Hofburg Palace ✅ Mozart Monument ✅ Academy of Fine Arts Vienna ✅ St. Michael’s Church ✅ Sisi Museum 🍰 Demel Try the Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake)—it’s delicious and a must-eat! If you’re not dining in, takeaway moves faster. ✅ Plague Column ✅ Anker Clock (No need to wait for the chime—just snap a quick photo!) ⭐️ Lunch: Reinthaler’s Beisl Recommend the beef steak with crispy fried onions—tender and flavourful. ✅ St. Stephen’s Cathedral An iconic landmark with over 800 years of history. The Gothic architecture is breathtaking—don’t forget to take a photo! #WeekendDestinations #Vienna #Austria #Karlskirche #CentralEuropeTravel #ExploreTheWorld #Travel #GlobalEats #ViennaTravel #TravelGuide
