šŸ‡¦šŸ‡¹ Vienna 1.5-Day Travel Guide

Day 1: Arrived in Vienna at noon šŸ“Lunch at Grnd Restaurant: Tried grilled pork ribs – not as amazing as expected, just okay (the meat was a bit dry). Tomato borscht was bland. Also sampled Austrian-style dumplings – one filled with cabbage (I think?) and another with cheese. The cabbage one was acceptable, but the cheese one was a no for me 🄲. šŸ“Golden Hall (Musikverein): Grnd Restaurant is right next to the Golden Hall, so it’s easy to stop by for a quick photo. šŸ“Belvedere Palace: Absolutely gorgeous! I imagine it would be even more beautiful in spring when the grass turns green and flowers bloom 🤩. Didn’t buy a ticket to go inside since I’m not super into art (spent about 1.5-2 hours there). šŸ“Sisi Museum: Ticket was €19, and it includes a free audio guide in Chinese. Definitely worth it if you’re interested in Empress Sisi (spent 1-1.5 hours here). šŸ“CafĆ© Central: The line was loooong – stretched way outside – but it moved pretty quickly. Only waited about 15 minutes. Tried the famous Sachertorte āœ… – so good! Eating the cake with cream was pure bliss 😌. The Mozart coffee was a bit too bitter for me. I heard it has alcohol in it, but I couldn’t really taste it. šŸ“Concert at the Golden Hall: Arrived 15 minutes early. If you book tickets, choose the ā€œpick up onsiteā€ option – the physical ticket is beautiful and makes a great souvenir! Coats and tote bags must be checked in (€0.85 per item). Day 2 šŸ“Visited a bunch of attractions in this order: Hundertwasserhaus → Anker Clock → Plague Column → Small street near the Vienna State Opera (perfect for city walking – lots of little shops to explore) → Stadtpark (little golden Mozart statue) → Schƶnbrunn Palace (didn’t go in due to time; also, the timing wasn’t right – the royal gardens looked bleak with no flowers or greenery, not photogenic at all 🄹) → Took the train to the airport. PS: Public transport in Vienna is super convenient. You usually don’t need Uber. I recommend buying a 24/48/72-hour unlimited metro pass on your first day. (I was low-key confused why no one checked tickets, but it’s better to just buy one and be honest.) #LifeIsMeantToBeShared #UKInternationalStudent #WarwickUni #StudyAbroadLife #ViennaTravel #TravelSnippets
