đŠđč Vienna City Center One-Day Itinerary (No Backtracking!)
Most of Viennaâs main attractions (except Schönbrunn Palace) are clustered together and can easily be explored on foot. If you keep things relaxed, you can see everything in half a day! đ Start by taking the metro to Karlskirche (St. Charles Church). Right across the street (about 300m away) is the Golden Hall (Musikverein). From the Golden Hall, walk to St. Stephen's Cathedral. Along the way, youâll pass: The Vienna State Opera Shopping streets with Swarovski, Pandora, and more Lunch options include McDonaldâs, Burger King, or a highly-rated Chinese restaurant (book in advance!). Itâs a short walk from St. Stephen's Cathedral to the Plague Column (PestsĂ€ule). Next, head to Vienna City Hall (Rathaus) and the Austrian Parliament Building. đ You can enter the Parliament for free with your passport! From the Parliament, cut through the Volksgarten (Peopleâs Garden) on your way to Heldenplatz (Heroesâ Square) and the Hofburg Palace. End at the Mozart Monument. đ Thatâs all for the city center highlights! If you finish around 3â4 PM, consider heading to Schönbrunn Palace. âł Palace entry has timed tickets, but the gardens and hill viewpoints are open until 7â8 PM â perfect for a panoramic view of Vienna! For dinner, choose a riverside restaurant along the Danube River. Take a stroll, enjoy the sunset đ (Vienna has late sunsets these days), and relax.
