🇦🇹 Vienna One-Day Family Citywalk: Efficient & Kid-Friendly Edition‼

Just came back from a family trip to Austria-Hungary-Czech in early July 🧳👨‍👩‍👧. We only had about a day and a half in Vienna — but it was totally worth it! This city is clean, grand, and full of music 🎶 and art. Loved it! ✅ Here’s a tested one-day route ❤️ Hope it helps other traveling families! 🚶‍♂️ One-Day Citywalk Route: 【Morning】St. Stephen's Cathedral → Anker Clock → St. Peter’s Church → Plague Column → Hofburg Palace → Albertina Museum → Golden Hall → St. Charles Church → Johann Strauss Monument 【Afternoon】Schönbrunn Palace → Belvedere Palace 🚄 From Vienna Airport to the city: CAT Express: 16 mins to Wien Mitte, round trip €24.9. Departs hourly at :08 and :38 to the city, :07 and :37 back to the airport. S7 Train: Cheaper and almost as fast — great if you’re not in a rush! 🚌 Transport: Get the 24-hour ticket on the WienMobil app — €8 per person, valid on all trams, buses, and metros. 🏛️ Most city center attractions are within walking distance. We walked from St. Stephen’s to Hofburg, then took the metro to St. Charles Church. Schönbrunn Palace is farther — allow 30+ mins by bus. Set aside half a day for it. 🎥 The Before Sunrise filming spot is on the terrace of Albertina Museum (with a great view of Hofburg Gardens The green bridge is at 📍 Zollamtssteg. ⛪ Churches we loved: St. Stephen’s Cathedral and St. Charles Church — both stunning inside and out! The reflection pool in front of St. Charles Church is super photogenic 📸 — like a mirror! Free entry after 7 PM. 🚌 Easy route to Schönbrunn (no uphill walking!): Take light rail to WIEN MEIDLING → Bus 8A or 63A to 📍 STRANITZKYGASSE (Gloriette stop) → enter through the iron gate → walk downhill through the gardens to the palace. Palace Ticket (40 rooms): Adult €34, Child €24. 🌆 Belvedere Palace: We didn’t go inside but enjoyed the gardens — soft evening light made it magical. 🏨 Stay: We stayed at Prize by Radisson near Vienna Central Station — modern, artsy, family-friendly. ❤️ Loved the pork knuckle at Spar Supermarket in the station — only €5-6!
