๐ฆ๐บ A Car-Free Day in Launceston ๐ถโโ๏ธโจ
My friend couldnโt get a flight from Launceston to Sydney, so we had to return to Hobart to fly out. That meant returning our rental car early, leaving me alone in Launceston for a city walk ๐. Letโs be real โ road tripping is amazing. Without a car, itโs tough to get around (especially with luggage), but that didnโt stop me! ๐ช 1๏ธโฃ Royal Park A small park near the marina โ pretty and peaceful โฒ๏ธ 2๏ธโฃ Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery Free entry ๐จ, luggage storage available. Features permanent First Tasmanian exhibits and rotating art displays. Staff were super friendly! 3๏ธโฃ Launceston Visitor Information Centre Has FREE 24-hour luggage lockers! Also sells souvenirs like lavender bears and honey ๐ โ cheaper than the airport! โ 4๏ธโฃ City Park Larger than Royal Park, with Japanese macaques ๐ and a radio museum. Saw a girl having lunch among blooming roses โ such a vibe! ๐นโ๏ธ 5๏ธโฃ City Park Radio Museum Run by volunteers. A kind grandpa gave me a tour (thankfully his Aussie accent was clear โ I understood 85% ๐ ). He even let me sit at the sound console and pretend to be a radio host ๐๏ธ! Also saw a 195-year-old flower (forgot the name ๐ฌ). Donated $5 gladly! 6๏ธโฃ Mudbar Restaurant Time to relax like a local! ๐ฆช Oysters were okay ๐ท Loved the 2024 Ghost Rock Sauvignon Blanc ๐ง Burrata was surprisingly delicious! After passing so many wineries in Tasmania, I finally had my lazy afternoon with wine โ so happy! ๐ฅ Highly recommend this place! โ ๏ธ Reminder: There is NO SkyBus between Launceston city and the airport! ๐ซ Only taxi or Uber. My Uber cost $36.38 (increased after 5 PM ๐ธ). Also, checks were looser this time โ wish Iโd bought more souvenirs and wine! ๐ท๐ญ #Australia #Tasmania #Launceston #CityWalk #ChillVibes #WineLover #TravelDiary
