π¦πΊ How to Explore Geelong Solo β No Car Needed! ππ
Took advantage of a sunny Monday and finally went on that solo trip to Geelong Iβve been dreaming about! βοΈπ Getting there was super easy β just hopped on the V/Line from Southern Cross Station. Trains run every 20 minutes β°π, so no strict planning neededβ¦ perfect for us P-people! π Geelong is such a beautiful and relaxed town πΏπ. Iβd only been to Port Melbourne and St Kilda before β the first is just a plain beach, the second is pretty but way too commercial. Geelongβs Eastern Beach area does have some commercial spots, but it still feels local and authentic with people walking their dogs, jogging, and just chilling. πβπ¦Ίπ Traveling alone means total freedom! I wandered around the waterfront all day and tried all the fun stuff β felt like a big kid again π₯³π§ π Highlights & Recommendations: 1οΈβ£ Giant Ferris Wheel π‘ β Looks amazing from afar, and the view from the top is even better! Totally worth it. 2οΈβ£ Carousel Ride π β Yes, itβs mostly kids and parents, but who cares? Treat yourself to a seaside carousel moment β itβs romantic in its own way! π« 3οΈβ£ Beach Swing π β Thereβs a swing along the path from the carousel to the waterfront. So peaceful! 4οΈβ£ Souvenirs π§Έ β Picked up a cute wooden doll keychain from the National Wool Museum β such a unique keepsake! (Was too tired to find the large version though π ) π« Skip These: Restaurants β Sadly, donβt get your hopes up. I tried the popular Sailorβs Rest and later Wharf Shedβ¦ overpriced, pre-made food, and mediocre drinks. Not worth it π ββοΈπ π Funny moment: One of the wooden bollard sculptures looks just like my math teacher! π§βοΈβ And yesβ¦ couldnβt resist a mirror selfie on the V/Line β with bonus train shake ππΈ All in all β HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Geelong totally healed my soul π₯Ήπ #Melbourne #StudyInAustralia #Geelong #DayTrip #SoloTravel #CarFreeTravel #OOTD #ExploreVictoria #RelaxingDay
