🇦🇺 Off to Townsville: A New Chapter Begins 🌅✈️

This time, I chose Townsville in Queensland as my destination. Why Townsville? Because I’m planning to do regional work for my visa, and it’s the largest city in Northern Queensland! 🏙️🌴 I booked a two-week stay at a hostel and set off. A tip on flights: use Skyscanner to compare prices, then book directly through the airline’s website. For example, I found Jetstar had the cheapest option 🎫, so I booked through their site and pre-purchased baggage allowance. Pro tip: If you see a good deal, grab it fast – prices can jump overnight! I learned that the hard way 😅 (saw $200 one day, $240 the next!). During my layover in Melbourne, I passed a café playing Coldplay’s Yellow ☕🎶 – such a vibe! My flight took off around 6 PM – perfect timing to catch a gorgeous sunset from the window 🌇✈️. On the plane, I sat by the window and dozed off a bit. Australians are so friendly – the kind lady next to me noticed I was awake and looking at the menu 🍽️, so she helped me order by calling the flight attendant. So sweet! Landed at 9 PM – totally dark already 🌙. I was dragging two heavy suitcases alone down empty streets when luckily two girls from Melbourne ahead noticed and offered to walk with me 🧳💬. We chatted about my gap year plans, added each other on FB, and then my Uber arrived – goodbye, new friends! 👋 Checked into the hostel – nice environment with pretty night views 🌃. The sunset the next evening was stunning too 😍. My plan for the next few days: walk-in resume drops 🏢📄. I’ll share how that goes later! #Australia #WHV #WorkingHoliday #WorkingHolidayVisa #Townsville #BackpackerLife #TravelAustralia #GapYear
