๐ฆ๐บ Off to Townsville: A New Chapter Begins ๐ โ๏ธ
This time, I chose Townsville in Queensland as my destination. Why Townsville? Because Iโm planning to do regional work for my visa, and itโs the largest city in Northern Queensland! ๐๏ธ๐ด I booked a two-week stay at a hostel and set off. A tip on flights: use Skyscanner to compare prices, then book directly through the airlineโs website. For example, I found Jetstar had the cheapest option ๐ซ, so I booked through their site and pre-purchased baggage allowance. Pro tip: If you see a good deal, grab it fast โ prices can jump overnight! I learned that the hard way ๐ (saw $200 one day, $240 the next!). During my layover in Melbourne, I passed a cafรฉ playing Coldplayโs Yellow โ๐ถ โ such a vibe! My flight took off around 6 PM โ perfect timing to catch a gorgeous sunset from the window ๐โ๏ธ. On the plane, I sat by the window and dozed off a bit. Australians are so friendly โ the kind lady next to me noticed I was awake and looking at the menu ๐ฝ๏ธ, so she helped me order by calling the flight attendant. So sweet! Landed at 9 PM โ totally dark already ๐. I was dragging two heavy suitcases alone down empty streets when luckily two girls from Melbourne ahead noticed and offered to walk with me ๐งณ๐ฌ. We chatted about my gap year plans, added each other on FB, and then my Uber arrived โ goodbye, new friends! ๐ Checked into the hostel โ nice environment with pretty night views ๐. The sunset the next evening was stunning too ๐. My plan for the next few days: walk-in resume drops ๐ข๐. Iโll share how that goes later! #Australia #WHV #WorkingHoliday #WorkingHolidayVisa #Townsville #BackpackerLife #TravelAustralia #GapYear
