🇨🇦 Golden Ox in Waterloo – The Pinnacle of All-You-Can-Eat BBQ 🍖

Finally got to visit Golden Ox, the newly opened BBQ restaurant I’d been wanting to try for ages! First off, it’s incredibly delicious! 😋 From Monday to Thursday, their all-day menu is $41.99. For two people, after tax and before tips, it’s under $100 – insane value! (They also have a lunch menu for $27.99, which includes short ribs!!! OMG, I’ll definitely try that next time.) The place is super clean. We went around 5 PM and could walk right in. You can order in Chinese, and the food comes out so fast – it feels like the meat is on your table the second you finish ordering. All drinks are extra, but the free lemon water is pretty good! Haha, who needs soda with BBQ anyway? 🥩 I’m strongly recommending this to everyone – go eat here! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Short ribs! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 They melt in your mouth, no exaggeration. The marinade is perfect, and you can still taste the original milky flavor of the meat. When they’re slightly charred, they’re insanely tender – it’s like they dissolve in your mouth. Go eat the short ribs, seriously. Chicken wings 🌟🌟🌟🌟 They’re split in half, tender and fragrant. Shrimp 🦐🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Not small shrimp – tiger prawns! And they’re peeled! When cooked just right, they’re springy and super crispy. Eat as many as you can! Beef tongue 🌟🌟🌟 We struggled a bit with grilling this – overcooked, it gets tough. I’m not a big fan of beef tongue personally, but my friend thought it was good. Fatty beef 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 One word: fragrant! A mouthful of rich, fatty flavor. Their house seasoning is great too – it doesn’t feel greasy, just a nice, fresh taste. Black pepper beef ribs 🌟🌟🌟 Personally, I found them a bit thick. Maybe we overcooked them, but they were a bit hard to chew. Worth a try though. Pork belly 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Solid as always – super tasty! Pork neck meat 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This stuff is crazy expensive at T&T, but Golden Ox’s pork neck is high-quality. Perfect balance of fat and lean, full of flavor in every bite. Lamb 🌟🌟🌟🌟 No gamey taste at all! None! It’s cut into small pieces and tastes great. 👍 Lamb lovers, go for it! 🐛 For snacks, I recommend the takoyaki – there’s real octopus inside, and the texture is crispy and delicious. (Not a fan of the chicken skewers personally.) The wasabi octopus is good too. The yuzu salmon, available at the condiment bar, has a fresh yuzu flavor that pairs nicely with avocado 🥑 – so good! 😋 For dessert 🍧, you get one ice cream per person. There are about five flavors; my friend and I both had mango, which was great! We ordered crème caramel 🍮 right at the start, and ended up eating 11 in total by the end – what a record! Overall, it’s absolutely worth a visit. I’m already craving it again.
