🇨🇦 Must-Visit Spots in Winnipeg
Museums You Can’t Miss 🏛️ 📍 Manitoba Museum The first floor features natural history exhibits showcasing Manitoba’s wildlife, ecosystems, and geological history—with plenty of animal and plant specimens! 🌿 The second floor has Indigenous cultural exhibitions, and the third floor focuses on maritime and astronomy themes. The lower level is an interactive zone—perfect for kids, but I enjoyed every part of it too! 😄 From tornado simulators to laser harps, it’s both fun and educational. There’s also a planetarium 🪐 with guided astronomy shows (separate ticket required). Allow at least half a day to explore. Highly recommended for nature lovers and families! 👨👩👧👦 📍 Canadian Museum for Human Rights This 8-story museum takes at least half a day to fully appreciate. The architecture itself is a work of art. 🏗️ Exhibits focus on human rights themes from various perspectives. The top floor offers a stunning panoramic view of Winnipeg. 🌆 A deeply meaningful and visually impressive experience. 📍 Winnipeg Art Gallery A must-visit for Indigenous art enthusiasts! Nearly half of the collection is by Inuit artists, including sculptures, prints, textiles, and paintings. 🎨 Also features contemporary and modern artworks. Smaller than the other two—can be explored in 1-2 hours. 📍 Nearby Attractions The Forks Market 🛍️ and Esplanade Riel (a scenic pedestrian bridge 🚶🌉) are located close to these museums. I walked my dog on the bridge, then visited The Forks and the Human Rights Museum afterward. The Manitoba Museum deserves its own dedicated day! 📍 Bois-des-Esprits Dogs are allowed, but be cautious 🐕⚠️ A beautifully preserved urban forest with unique wood carvings on tree trunks and stumps—including figures, animals, and a three-meter tree spirit! 🌲🦉 Great for wildlife spotting—I saw deer, beavers, sunbathing turtles 🐢, and huge snapping turtles! Warning: There are many ticks in the area. I found at least 7 on my dog after our visit. 🚫🐜 Still, a wonderful experience for nature and art lovers—and also kid-friendly! #ArchiesDiary #ExploreCanada #Winnipeg #RoadTripCanada #WinnipegLife #StudyInWinnipeg ✨📸🍁
