🇨🇦 Vancouver Cow-Spotting 🐄

🇨🇦 Vancouver Cow-Spotting 🐄 Driving back from Kelowna, we’d planned to visit the famous EcoFarm, but it was closed for Easter—so we detoured to Birchwood Dairy instead. What a happy accident! 😊 The farm is free to enter, which is a total win! 🎟️ In the current viewing area, you’ll find cows, tiny newborn calves 🐄, and two super playful foals that kids can gently pet while they munch on hay 🌿. The staff mentioned the outdoor paddocks open this week, so even closer animal encounters are on the way—can’t wait to come back! The animal pens were nice and quiet, but the ice cream queue? Stretched all the way out the door 🍦. And no wonder—scoop prices are tiny, but the portions are generous! My daughter picked vanilla, and it was ultra-creamy with that fresh, pure milk flavor that only a dairy farm can pull off. A “baby” size is only ~C$2 and already more than enough; pro tip: bring your own tub if you want to haul pints home for later! 🥡 Inside the little shop, you can also grab fresh milk, cheese, and other dairy treats—so many goodies to stock up on. The farm itself is compact, but the drive in? Chef’s kiss. Big-sky prairie vibes everywhere: rolling green fields, snow-capped peaks in the distance ⛰️, fluffy drifting clouds, and flocks of birds soaring by. For city-raised kids (and adults!), it’s a breath of fresh country air that feels like a mini escape 🌬️. Loved this unplanned stop—simple, sweet, and full of charm! ✨ #VancouverLife#VancouverWithKids#DayTripDairy
