🇨🇦 Waterloo’s BBQ Chicken—king of fried chicken, and their Korean
I’ve talked about this spot before, but back then, I only reviewed their fried chicken. Later, I noticed they have a whole K-Food menu, so I had to come back and try it. Let me tell you—places like Onnuri and Nuri Village just met some serious competition. Their Korean food is that good 👊! Bossam (21 CAD) 🐷 Think tender, flavorful pork belly paired with crispy, spicy Korean radish kimchi. The rich meaty taste blends perfectly with the tangy crunch of the kimchi—so satisfying. Plus, it comes with side dishes: fish cakes, marinated eggs, beef, and spicy cabbage. Everything works together so well 😋! Galbi Tang (20 CAD) 🍲 Their Korean-style pork bone soup is a winner. The broth is packed with depth, balancing meaty richness and fresh flavors from the veggies. The pork falls right off the bone—juicy and tender. There’s even chewy glass noodles in the soup, soaking up all that deliciousness. One spoon of soup, a bite of rice, a piece of kimchi, and a little marinated beef—perfection. It’s warm, hearty, and hits the spot every time ❤️. Secret Sauce Chicken (24 CAD) 🔥 I mentioned this before, but it’s worth repeating. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, coated in that iconic sweet-spicy Korean sauce. Tangy, savory, and just a hint of heat—classic and always delicious 👌. Creamy Onion Chicken (26 CAD) 🧅 This is new to my reviews! It’s a classic Korean fried chicken combo: crispy chicken with creamy onion sauce and fresh onions. The crunch of the chicken, the crispness of the onions, and that sweet, creamy flavor—so addictive. A must-try if you love rich, savory-sweet tastes 😍! Oh, and they have their own ice cream! We tried the pineapple flavor, and they even served little macarons on the side. I’m not big on sweets, so my friend ate most of it, but he said it was tasty—just a bit sweet. They’ve got a range of flavors too 🍦. Who knew a fried chicken spot would nail Korean dishes this well? Their menu is way more versatile than I thought. Do yourself a favor and try more than just the chicken—you won’t regret it! Address: 140 University Ave W, Waterloo, ON N2L 0H1, Canada #WaterlooFood #WaterlooLife #FriedChicken #KoreanFood
