🇨🇿【Architecture Lover's City Walk】Prague, Czech Republic

From deconstructivist masterpieces 🏙️ to medieval castles 🏰 1️⃣ Dancing House 💃 Designed by deconstructivist architect Frank Gehry, this building resembles two dancers embracing by the Vltava River. 2️⃣ Hanging Man Sculpture ☂️ Two umbrella-carrying figures suspended mid-air. I confused it with another “hanging” sculpture—but that’s part of the fun of city walks! 3️⃣ Kafka Rotating Head 🤖 Created by David Černý, this sculpture consists of 42 moving chrome panels. It rotates every hour—experience Kafka’s gaze from all angles! 4️⃣ Man Hanging Out 🧍♂️ A work by artist Jiří Klima, symbolizing freedom, self-expression, and individuality. 5️⃣ Havelské Market 🛍️ Great place to buy rotating Astronomical Clock fridge magnets! 6️⃣ Powder Tower 🏰 Designed by Matěj Rejsek, inspired by Peter Parler’s Old Town Bridge Tower. It’s the only surviving Gothic gate of the original city walls. 7️⃣ House of the Black Madonna 🖤 A Cubist building designed by Josef Gočár. 8️⃣ Týn Church ⛪ A Gothic masterpiece by Arras Matthias and Peter Parler. 9️⃣ Old Town Square 🌆 “I stand in Prague’s twilight square…” ☕ I sipped coffee at Starbucks by the window, waiting for the clock to chime—pure bliss! 🔟 Astronomical Clock ⏰ Designed by Josef Mánes, this medieval clock still operates! On the hour, a skeleton shakes a bell, windows open, and the 12 Apostles parade past. The show ends with a rooster’s crow and clock chimes. 1️⃣1️⃣ Clementinum 🏛️ A grand Baroque complex. 1️⃣2️⃣ Charles Bridge 🌉 Get the same shot as Jay Chou! Built in the early 15th century from Bohemian sandstone—with egg whites in the mortar! 1️⃣3️⃣ Lennon Wall 🎨 A symbol of youth protest, covered in graffiti over Lennon’s portrait. 1️⃣4️⃣ Prague Castle 🏰 Home to Bohemian kings—the largest ancient castle complex in the world! 📌 Tips: ☁️ Prague weather is unpredictable! I planned to buy Czech beads but got caught in a hailstorm 😅. The city also has noticeable smog—especially near the airport. The Old Town has cleaner air, but still may irritate sensitive noses. 🎁 Souvenir Ideas: Czech beads, crystal glassware, Krtek (mole) dolls, Astronomical Clock magnets, Mucha postcards (who doesn’t love Art Nouveau?). #Architecture #CityWalk #Europe #CzechRepublic #PragueDiary #DesignLover #TravelGram
