🇩🇪 Bamberg, Germany – Like Traveling Back 1000 Years

The weather these days has been absolutely miserable 😫 – 2-3°C with constant drizzling rain 🌧️, chilly and gloomy... But honestly, even bad weather can’t ruin my mood when I’m out exploring! 🚗 Parking Location: Bamberg Tourist Information Center – specifically the underground parking at Rosengarten. Super convenient for walking everywhere. It’s about 60 km from Nuremberg, around a 1.5-hour drive. 📜 Historical Background: Bamberg's Old Town is one of the largest and best-preserved medieval cities in Germany, untouched by war destruction. Back in the year 1000, Emperor Henry II and his wife established it as a Catholic diocesan center. With several grand churches, you can just imagine how stunning it is! 📍📍📍 Must-See Spots: 1️⃣ Bischofmühlbrücke – From this bridge, you can enjoy views of both riverbanks, including a charming wooden curved bridge. 🌉 2️⃣ St. Stephan's Church – A church with simple yet elegant architectural style. ⛪ 3️⃣ Obere Pfarre Church – Rarely do you see such opulently decorated churches in Germany! Inside, there’s a museum about Bamberg’s history, church collections, and historical exhibits. Ticket: around €7-8. 🎟️✨ 4️⃣ Alte Hofhaltung – The old courthouse is here, featuring fully wooden structures. Henry II once lived here too! Back in the day, it served as dormitories and offices for the nearby church. Ticket: €10 per person. Few artifacts, mostly textual explanations, but worth it for the architecture. 🏛️ 5️⃣ Obere Brücke – A iconic landmark of Bamberg with beautifully painted walls. Don’t miss the chubby little leg sticking out of the wall – it’s hilarious! 😂🦵 6️⃣ Maximiliansplatz – This is where the Christmas market takes place in winter! 🎄❄️ The rest of the time was spent wandering through ancient alleys and old shops – it truly feels like traveling back 1000 years, walking the same streets and seeing the same buildings... #TakeTheWorldSlowly #GoWithTheFlowTravel #Travel #PlacesToCheckOff #AroundTheWorld
