🇩🇪 Germany's Sunniest City—Freiburg
After enduring two grueling months of exams in Aachen, I finally escaped to Freiburg—a city that showers its people with sunlight, almost too generously. Maybe more sunshine = more chill? 🧘♂️ Right off the train, I was stunned to see young people perched like sparrows atop the arched bridge, soaking up the rays. The tiny water channels (Bächle) running through the streets have been around for 800 years, originally used for cleaning and firefighting. There’s a funny local legend: If you accidentally step into one, you’ll marry a Freiburger! 🤵👰 (Watch your step!) Freiburg is also a heavyweight in philosophy—Max Weber, Heidegger, and Husserl all taught at the University of Freiburg. Standing atop Schlossberg hill, gazing at the same view Weber once did, I wondered: Did the Protestant Ethic vibe with this scenery too? 🤔 A friend told me Café Schmidt here is legendary for its Black Forest cake 🍰—apparently a must-try if you get the chance! #Germany #Freiburg #Aachen #ExamHell #EscapeToSunshine #Wanderlust 🌞
