🇩🇪 Hamburg|Ultimate One-Day Guide 🗺️ All You Need to Know
Took advantage of the beautiful weather and longer daylight hours in Germany to explore Hamburg just before the new semester begins 👇 Known as "Germany's Gateway to the World," Hamburg is the country’s second-largest city after Berlin. 🚄 Transportation: Took the ICE from Göttingen—about a 2-hour ride. 🗺️ Most of Hamburg’s attractions are quite concentrated, each about a 10-minute walk from the next. Here’s the detailed itinerary (follow this order to avoid backtracking!): Binnenalster → Hamburg Kunsthalle → Hamburg City Hall → St. Nikolai Church → Deichstraße Old Quarter → Speicherstadt → Elbphilharmonie → Miniatur Wunderland 1️⃣ Binnenalster A 10-minute walk from the central station. Looks stunning in good weather—the swans 🦢 on the lake are so elegant, and I even captured a lucky rainbow 🌈! 2️⃣ Hamburg Kunsthalle Student ticket: €8. Don’t forget your student ID 🪪! Lockers are available to the left after entrance—ask staff for a token if you don’t have a coin. Wanderer above the Sea of Fog is currently not on display; it’ll be back in June. 3️⃣ Hamburg City Hall (Rathaus) A magnificent neo-Renaissance building and one of Hamburg’s landmarks. Free entry inside. 4️⃣ St. Nikolai Church Student ticket: €5 💶, includes elevator access to the top (panoramic city views) + underground museum. Tickets can be purchased on-site. 5️⃣ Deichstraße Old Quarter Lots of photo spots recommended on Xiaohongshu, but currently under construction everywhere—personally found it just okay. Worth passing through but not a must. 6️⃣ Speicherstadt One of the world’s largest warehouse complexes, featuring historicist-style red-brick buildings. Perfect for a relaxing stroll and great photos 📷! 7️⃣ Elbphilharmonie Free plaza tickets can be picked up at a shop near the main entrance. Take the elevator to the viewing platform for 360° harbor views. There’s also a cute souvenir shop—catch a concert if you have time! 8️⃣ Miniatur Wunderland Student ticket: €17. Discounted tickets available after 6 PM, but check opening hours in advance. Recommended to book early on weekends/holidays. Spent almost 5 hours here—so many interactive buttons to trigger fun events throughout the exhibition! #RecordTheMoment #StudyAbroadTravel #StudyAbroadLife #GlobalStudentAdventures #WaysToExploreACity #TravelGermany #HamburgTravel #StudyInGermany #TravelGuide #LifeInGermany #WeekendGetaway
