đ©đȘ Passau, Germany
We arrived in Passau in the afternoonâthe first stop on our Viking Danube River journey. From the moment we landed, the Viking "little red people" had everything perfectly organized. The short drive to the port already had us excited for the adventures ahead! After settling into our cabin, we decided to explore the town. Passau is a quaint, picturesque town with colorful Baroque buildings lining the streetsâevery corner felt like a postcard đž. Our first stop was St. Stephenâs Cathedral, home to one of the worldâs largest pipe organs. The interior was both grand and serene, instantly calming the soul. We returned to the ship for our first dinner đœïžâVikingâs culinary team did not disappoint! Every dish was exquisite. Later, we couldnât resist hiking up to Veste Oberhaus, the hilltop castle. The climb rewarded us with a breathtaking view of Passau and the confluence of three riversâthe Danube, Inn, and Ilzâtheir distinct colors merging into a stunning natural spectacle đ. The next morning, we opted for free exploration instead of a guided tour. We wandered through quiet old streets, sipped coffee at a local cafĂ©, and passed flower shops and bakeries while chatting with friendly locals. We revisited the river confluenceâthis time from ground levelâand it was just as magical. By afternoon, rain began to fall âïž, and the ship decided to depart early. With bittersweet feelings, we sailed away from Passauâs rainy charm and into the next chapter of our Danube journey. đ If you love quiet, classical, slow-paced towns, donât miss Passau! #Passau #GermanyTravel #VikingRiverCruise #HiddenGemsEurope #TravelVlog #CityWalk
