🇩🇪 The Lion City of Braunschweig: Palace & Happy Rizzi House 🏰🎨

I thought Braunschweig (Lower Saxony's second-largest city after Hanover) would be a one-day trip—but I was wrong! This underrated gem has so much to explore. Sadly, my phone died on the train, cutting my adventure to just 6 hours 😅. Here’s my route (ordered by distance from the train station): 1️⃣ Städtisches Museum Braunschweig 🏛️ Medieval to modern art, student ticket ~€2-3. 🗿 Highlight: A gloriously melancholic nude male statue outside—mood relatable. 2️⃣ Happy Rizzi House 🎨 The iconic pop-art building—no intro needed! (But seriously, so Instagrammable.) 3️⃣ Residenzschloss (Ducal Palace) 👑 Four-in-one spot: Palace Museum (Free on Saturdays! No photos, but the gold-lit coronation hall is breathtaking ✨). Library with €1-2 used books (even textbooks—budget-student heaven! Cash-only regret 😭). Rooftop terrace (Best city views + a dashing knight statue 🏻). Schloss-Arkaden Mall (A "sight" for us village folks 🛍️). 4️⃣ Braunschweiger Löwe (Lion Statue) & Cathedral 🦁⛪ The lion marks the historic city center. At noon, the cathedral’s choir performance fills the square with magic! 5️⃣ Old Town Hall 🏛️ Now a free history museum—climb to the 2nd floor for photo ops! 6️⃣ Missed but Noted 🗺️ The tourist center (near the lion) gives free maps with hidden gems like the Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum. Staff even pointed out best photo spots (shoutout to the palace rooftop!). Lesson learned: Braunschweig deserves 2 days—and a power bank! 🔋 #GermanyTravel #Braunschweig #HiddenGems #CastleLover
