I’ll be honest—I almost skipped La Boca because it was so hyped up online !🤯… but then I found out the chef has been nominated for the James Beard Award 8 times !🏆👨🍳! My foodie curiosity won, and I’m so glad it did. We made a reservation in advance! (smart move—it’s popular!), and here’s what we tried: 🥗 !Strawberry Cucumber Salad ! After days in the desert, my body was begging for veggies! 🥒🍓. This salad was a dream come true—tangy strawberries, crisp cucumber, creamy cheese, and peppery arugula, all dressed in a gazpacho-inspired vinaigrette. So refreshing! 💚 🌭! Grilled Chorizo Ibérico ! Juicy, smoky, and perfectly charred chorizo served with sweet fig jam and pickled peppers !🌶️🍯. Salty, sweet, and spicy—each bite was a flavor explosion! 🧀 !Ham Croquetas! A classic Spanish tapa done right !🥧! Crispy outside, creamy and ham-filled inside. Simple but so satisfying. 🥘 !Seafood “Paella” ! Our waiter recommended the single portion—and yes, it was plenty for two! 🦐🍚 While it wasn’t a traditional paella (no socarrat/crispy bottom), it was still delicious—loaded with shrimp, mussels, and ham. Think flavorful fried rice meets Spanish soul food. We cleaned the pan! Overall, La Boca delivered tasty, well-executed tapas that could easily rival some Chicago spots !🏙️🍴. Was it life-changing?
