🇫🇷 Restaurant Visit | Discovering South of France Charm
🌷 Chez Janou 🥂 This is a restaurant located in the 3rd arrondissement, offering Provencal family-style cuisine and pastis (anise-flavored liqueur). Dining is available both indoors and outdoors, with green and white checkered tables and chairs outside. If the sun is out, the vibrancy and brightness truly feel like the South of France. ✨ Menu Recommendations: - Magret de canard au romarin (Rosemary Duck Breast) : I was initially worried that the duck might be dry, but it was far from it. The meat was tender and chewy, with a crispy skin that crackled when bitten into. The juices from the duck were flavorful, and the accompanying sweet sauce was incredibly aromatic. - Tagliatelle aux escargots (Snail Tagliatelle) : A classic choice, and a good start for those trying escargot for the first time. It was decent and enjoyable. - Mousse au chocolat (Chocolate Mousse) : Rich and velvety, it had a texture similar to raw chocolate. The portion was huge—perfectly sized for three people to share. For drinks, we ordered vin d'orange, vin de noix, and orange juice. As someone who doesn't particularly enjoy alcohol, I found the orange juice to be the most refreshing. 😊 ✨ Tips: 1⃣️ The portions here are quite generous. Typically, one main course (plat) per person is more than enough. You can always add dessert or a drink. 2⃣️ Lunch starts at 12 PM. It's best to arrive right at opening time, as seating isn't allowed before then. However, be mindful that the place gets busy quickly, with a line forming about half an hour after opening. 3⃣️ The restaurant is very close to the Place des Vosges. After your meal, I highly recommend taking a stroll there. On a sunny day, it's a delightful experience. You can even pause for a moment under Victor Hugo's house and soak in the ambiance. #RestaurantVisit #HiddenGem #MustVisit #Travel #France #FrenchCuisine #SouthFrance #Paris #Foodie #FoodAdventure
