🇫🇷 Tours City Guide: A Perfect 2-Day Itinerary

🚅 Getting There Just 1h+ by TER train from Paris—super easy for a weekend getaway! 🗺 Compact & Walkable The city center is small (20-min walk corner to corner), so you can see all the highlights on foot in 1-2 days. 🌟 My 2-Day Route 📍 Day 1: Medieval Wonders 1️⃣ Tour Charlemagne (remnant of a historic abbey) 2️⃣ Basilique Saint-Martin (houses St. Martin’s tomb) 3️⃣ Hôtel Goüin (Renaissance gem) 4️⃣ Musée du Compagnonnage (craftsmanship museum) 5️⃣ Vieux Tours (postcard-perfect half-timbered houses 🏠) 📍 Day 2: Art & River Views 1️⃣ Musée des Beaux-arts (fine arts museum, 1-2h needed) 2️⃣ Cathédrale Saint-Gatien (stunning Gothic cathedral) 3️⃣ Château de Tours (history exhibits) 4️⃣ Loire River banks (sunset stroll 🌉) 📌 Pro Tips ✔ St. Martin’s Basilica is a must—his tomb is a rare sight! ✔ Old Town = Instagram gold 📸 (medieval vibes everywhere). ✔ Walk along the Loire River—even in rain, it’s majestic (see my !). ✔ Most sights take 30 mins (except the art museum). 💶 Tickets FREE for students (except modern art museum: €4—we skipped it 😆). 🍽 Food Rec: La Plume Blanche Plat + Dessert = €22 Try the chicken or duck (note: duck is served rare). 🔥 MUST ORDER: Their Tarte Tatin (caramelized apple tart)—crispy bottom + melt-in-your-mouth apples! Café Gourmand: A sampler of 6 mini desserts + coffee. ☕🍰 #TravelFrance #ToursGuide #HiddenGems #LoireValley #MedievalTown #FoodieFinds
