🇬🇧 | Cambridge in Xu Zhimo's Words ✏️ One-Day Cambridge Tour Guide

🗺️ Transportation Take a train from 🚉 London Paddington or King’s Cross to 🚏 Cambridge Station in the morning. The journey takes about ⏰ 1 hour. All attractions are within walking distance. 🔔 Corpus Clock A large sculptural clock ⏰, one of Cambridge’s iconic landmarks, unveiled by Stephen Hawking in 2008. It features a grasshopper devouring time to remind people of the passage of life. 🚶 30-minute walk from Cambridge Station. 🍦 Jack‘s Gelato Just a few steps away from the Corpus Clock, this ice cream shop is absolutely delicious 😋. Make sure to get a cone 🍦! The chocolate options are rich – both dark 🍫 and white 🥛. Feel free to choose your favorite flavor! 👑 King's College The main highlight is the ⛪️ Chapel. Tickets (£15 per person) can be purchased online or at the Visitor Center. Note: Luggage 🧳 is not allowed inside, but you can store it at Campkins Cameras nearby for around £6 per item. 🌈 King's College Bridge The very bridge described by Xu Zhimo in his poetry 🌊. A stone monument engraved with his poem Farewell to Cambridge stands nearby. 🏫 Trinity College One of the most prestigious colleges under Cambridge University, known for producing numerous British prime ministers. Unfortunately, it was closed to visitors that day 🥲. Hopefully, I can visit next year! 🍎 Newton's Apple Tree 🌳 Located near the entrance of Trinity College. You can take a photo with it from the roadside. Funny enough, I even found a discarded apple on the grass nearby 🤣. 🛶 Quayside Punting After exploring the above spots, head north to the punting station. Hop on a boat 🚤 and cruise along the River Cam – you’ll pass under the Bridge of Sighs, King’s College Bridge, and the Mathematical Bridge. The ride ends near the 🚊 train station. ▪️ Before leaving, I even ran into Cambridge students conducting a survey 📝 – I rambled a bit hoping to help them out 🤣. ▪️ This packed Cambridge itinerary can be completed in half a day.
