🇬🇧 Bath Solo Escape: A 2-Day Retreat
After finishing the semester without a Schengen visa, I chose Bath—a city steeped in history—to unwind and recharge. ✨ 🏨【Hotel】 • Initially considered an £80 hotel + Thermae Bath Spa, but the mixed-gender changing area felt awkward for solo travel. • After comparing options, I splurged on The Gainsborough Bath Spa (£198). • Spa access only at 8-10 AM & 7-9 PM (2nd floor). Phones get locked in pouches—perfect for digital detox! 💆♀️ • The natural thermal waters (slight chlorine smell, but no residue) feature 3 pools + steam/sauna rooms. Loved following the "spa journey" guide—so relaxing! • My top-floor room had loud rain noise at night, but it added to Bath’s cozy, historic charm. ☔ 💆【SPA】 Tried "A Slice of Heaven" (£99/1hr) at No.15 Guest House—a divine back + facial massage with organic products. Post-treatment, they gifted a music playlist + massage oil. Pure bliss! 🌿 🍴【Food】 • Pinxto de Bath: Devoured 6 tapas solo—no regrets! 🍤🧀 • Sally Lunn’s: A 300-year-old bakery! Their Butter Cinnamon Bun (perfect sweetness, subtle spice) is a must if you like cinnamon. 🍰 🏛️【Itinerary】 Day 1: ① Roman Baths (book ahead online 🎫) ② Bath Abbey (pretty but "meh" inside 😅) ③ Alexandra Park (taxi + 3-min walk = panoramic views). Missed the golden hour—just got icy winds instead! 🌆❄️ Day 2: ④ Pulteney Bridge 🌉 ⑤ University of Bath (nostalgia trip 🎓) ⑥ The Circus ⭕ + Royal Crescent 🌙 (rained out ☔—rushed to the train!) 🫧【Final Thoughts】 Bath’s timeless charm won me over. ☀️ Strolling its streets, I reflected on how I almost studied here 4 years ago—bittersweet but magical. #SlowTravel #SoloFemaleTravel #StudyAbroadLife #LiveLikeALocal #UKTravel 🌍✨
