🇬🇧 Birmingham Chinatown’s New Opening
Just discovered this newly opened Sichuan restaurant in Chinatown yesterday — decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be the most authentic meal I’ve had this year as a Sichuan native! 🌶️ Spicy Grilled Fish The numbing and spicy flavours were spot-on! The fish was fried until super crispy — even the bones were crunchy 🐟✨. The chef said it’s marinated with ginger, garlic, and scallions — perfectly seasoned and not fishy at all. They offer 6-7 flavours of grilled fish! 🔥 Dry Pot Pork Intestines Crispy, flavourful, and generously loaded with veggies. Huge portion — great for sharing! 🐇 Mute Rabbit (Yaba Tu) The MVP of the night! Extremely aromatic and spicy with three types of chilies 🌶️🔥. Wild pepper flavour shines through — highly recommended for spice lovers. Loaded with tender rabbit meat, not gamey at all. Perfect with rice! 👅 Spicy Double Crisp (Mala Shuang Cui) Tossed in homemade chili oil with sesame — so fragrant! Tasted just like the banquets from my childhood 🥢💥. Instant trip back to China! 🍖 Pork Trotters Soup (Lao Ma Ti Hua Tang) The trotters were fall-off-the-bone tender, served with a special dipping sauce. Rich in collagen and simmered with Chinese herbs — exactly like back in Sichuan! 🥤 They also offer a variety of affordable, large-sized drinks — and they’re actually good! 🏮 The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, plus private rooms with KTV and mahjong tables 🎤🀄. Highly recommend giving it a try! 💡 Note: Their card machine isn’t set up yet — bring cash! They also accept WeChat Pay and bank transfers.
