No doubt, Cambridge is the top choice for a day trip from London! 📍 A few years ago, I dreamed of pursuing a PhD here – but after two master’s degrees, that dream faded 😂 Maybe an MBA in the future? I’ve been to Cambridge twice, and I absolutely love it! 🏛️ The academic vibe is strong yet peaceful, life moves slowly, and the locals are super friendly and polite ✨ Compared to Oxford, I prefer Cambridge! “I leave softly, just as I quietly came.” Finally saw the Cambridge that Xu Zhimo wrote about with my own eyes 😭💚 👇 Here’s your one-day must-do list: 1️⃣ King’s College 🎫 £8 entry – totally worth it! The architecture is breathtaking ⛪️ – the chapel, cloisters, castle-like buildings… Walking through, you can’t help but envy the students studying here. 2️⃣ Punting on the River Cam 🚣 Right behind King’s College! We chose the dark blue punting company (and bargained down to £20/person!). The 45-minute ride included fun commentary and jokes from our punter. Breeze, sunshine, willow branches, bridges, and swans 🦢☀️ – pure magic! 3️⃣ Xu Zhimo’s Poetry Stone A white stone next to King’s Bridge engraved with famous lines from Farewell to Cambridge. So moving to see the poem I memorised as a child, right here in the UK. 4️⃣ Newton’s Apple Tree 🍎 Outside Trinity College! A small fenced-off tree – said to be a descendant of the one that inspired Newton. Surreal to see a story from textbooks come to life! 5️⃣ Chinese Food Recommendation Don’t miss 1+1 Rougamo – their roujiamo and noodles taste just like home! 🥙🍜 Also great for souvenirs: tote bags, bookmarks, baseball jackets, and college merch are all stylish buys 🛍️. 📌 Tips: 🚄 ~1 hour from London Liverpool Street 💷 Bring your student ID for discounts 👟 Wear comfy shoes – you’ll walk a lot! “Pole a boat upstream, toward where the grass is greener.” Cambridge is truly worth it! 💚 #CambridgeDayTrip #LondonDayTrip #UKTravel #StudyAbroad #CambridgeUniversity
