🇬🇧 Cambridge Day Trip Guide | Just Do It Like This!
1️⃣ Tickets & Transport 🎫 Book online in advance! (Use Ctrip/Qunar) – No need for complicated discount cards. Prices on Chinese apps are very reasonable! 🚂 My trip: London ↔ Cambridge day return for ¥159. E-ticket (scan QR code at station), open seating, trains usually on time (but may delay). Arrive early! No security checks – just walk in! 2️⃣ Cambridge Town Walk 📍 Get off at Cambridge Station (NOT Cambridge North – it’s too far!). 🚌 Bus options: Take #1 or #7 to City Centre, then walk to uni sights. I walked (only 15 mins!) – great for photos! 🏰 Cambridge is tiny! All major spots are walkable. The uni blends into the town – no gates! Focus on key sights (avoid "Gothic fatigue" 😉): 🗺️ Must-See Route: ① King’s College Pass the famous Corpus Clock (Google its wild backstory!) ⏳ Buy tickets at King’s visitor center – Chinese student ID gets discount! 🎟️ Highlights: Jaw-dropping chapel, 500-year-old carvings under choir seats! ② "Cambridge Bridge" & Xu Zhimo’s Poem Exit King’s north gate → left to the river. Spot the poem stone ("Quietly I take my leave...") by the bridge. 🌊 ③ Punting! 🚣♂️ Ticket booth under the bridge (¥20 adult/¥18 student). 40-min ride past colleges you can’t enter on foot. English commentary? Just nod & smile! 😆 ④ Jack’s Gelato 🍦 Near Corpus Clock – follow the crowd! Creamy & delicious, but tbh… all artisanal gelato tastes similar. ⑤ Newton’s Apple Tree 🍏 Pro move: Bring an apple for pics! I drew one… ✍️ 💡 Bonus Tips: Wear comfy shoes! Cobblestones = ankle killers. No need to rush – Cambridge is best enjoyed slowly. 🚂 Return to London whenever! (Last train ~10pm). #CambridgeUK #DayTripFromLondon #BudgetTravel #StudentTravel
